A little about me and a little about this blog…

One of my best girlfriends lives in Canada. She’s been there about three years. I, unfortunately, do not live in Canada.

Lately I’ve been working on her 30th birthday present. It’s a small cookbook of all the things I’ve been cooking while she’s been gone, because she loves cooking and food more than anyone else you’re likely to meet.  As I was writing the recipes into the book I realised how many of them I’d promised to give to various friends and, despite best intentions, had never followed through.1

So I’m creating this blog to try and finally follow through on all those promises I’ve made about sharing my recipes over the years.

My name is Gem and I live  in Melbourne. I cook, I renovate my house, and I read… and sometimes that feels like all I do.

Hi Gemma Your mum thought I might be interested in your latest project. I do not know how you find the time to devote to this interesting blog – however I am happy to benefit from it. I have just perused some of the recipes and they look interesting. I am not sure what all this involves but am happy to be part of it.
    Cheers

Hi – wanted to take a look after you commented on my butterfly cake. My sister’s name is Gema…weird!

I like your blog – it’s a great idea to create a blog for this reason – I also have people asking me all the time to share recipes.

Your food looks delicious – will keep coming back!

Oo, Gema with one m? That’s unusual, I’m with 2.

I was very impressed (and a little jealous) of your cake decorating abilities :)

Just found your blog while trying to find the recipe for BBC online. So excited to see it and find your wonderful blog! Also, I too have tried to make some of the Moroccan Soup kitchen dishes but without much luck. I’ve been trying that recipe too.
